‘Affordable Security’ may cost you a fortune

The word 'affordable' is used a lot when advertising on social media and I always wonder what the poster means by it. Is the implication that their systems are cheap? Or are they suggesting they offer value for money? It really says more about them than it does about their intended audience though, doesn't it?

When designing a system for any of our customers, we take into account the type of business, what they're looking to achieve with the cctv system, and their budget. You don't always need loads of cameras! Sometimes, one camera with advanced analytics can be a better option than more standard cameras. And not every camera needs to have all the latest technology . By focusing on your needs rather than our profit, we design a solution that utilises a combination of cameras to suit your specific requirements and within your budget. Our experience, across a broad spectrum of sectors, means we know what works and what doesn't, and we provide a solution to your specific problem.

All Usee systems are designed using high quality products from well respected brands. There are built in warranties and guaranteed technical support going forward. Our systems are user friendly, time efficient, and cyber secure. Of course, not every company is able to fit these products - you need specially trained engineers, installation experience, and validation from the manufacturer. It should go without saying, you also need to be insured and licensed! We're proud partners of Avigilon, Axis Communications, and Ava Aware - it took hard work to get here and we don't take that feat lightly. We also continue to research new technology and products and know there is always more to learn!

Once upon a time, long, long ago, we used to fit the ‘affordable’ brands. Now we know better and we don't. We know how these systems can suck the life out of your day, trying to find footage and download huge files. We know the cameras fail and the apps don't work. We've read the reports on cyber security issues and the concerns around hacking. We know how hard it can be to get technical support when it's urgently needed. We know about blind spots on a system and the impression multiple cameras on your premises can give to potential customers. We know how frustrating it is to zoom in on an image and it pixelates like Minecraft. We know how important training is and ensuring the system is user friendly and understood. We know that a cctv system is a long term investment. We've lost business because we refuse to fit these 'affordable' systems, but we will not compromise the hard won reputation of the Usee brand or your security.

Imagine walking into a car showroom and the sales rep knows nothing about electric vehicles. Has never driven one, hasn't read any articles about how the industry is changing, doesn't know the benefits of an electric car, either for the owner or the environment.. But they still state two things as fact:

1. You don't need it, and

2. You can't afford it.

Don't allow yourself to be put in a box, or swayed by buzz words. Do your research. Google the systems and manufacturers. Ask questions. Visit and see, hold the products. Request references. Compare. Make your own decision on what's 'affordable'.

The bottom line in decision making may be price, but don't let it be at any cost.
