Starlink communications resiliency
Three connections. One mission. Stay connected. 🛰️
What happens to your security systems when your broadband goes down?
At Usee.ie, we believe that a security system is only as good as its ability to remain operational when something goes wrong.
That's why we've just added Starlink satellite connectivity as a third layer of internet resilience at Usee HQ, home to our Industrial Design Centre and Security Experience Theatre in Dublin.
Our headquarters now benefits from three independent connectivity options:
🌐 Layer 1 — Primary Fibre Broadband
Our main high-speed connection, supporting everyday operations, cloud video surveillance, remote monitoring and communications.
📡 Layer 2 — 5G Mobile Broadband
Our secondary connection, providing an alternative route to the internet if our primary broadband service fails.
🛰️ Layer 3 — Starlink Satellite Broadband
Our newest layer of resilience. Using SpaceX's low Earth orbit satellite network, Starlink provides an additional connectivity option that doesn't depend on the same terrestrial broadband infrastructure.
Why Starlink?
✅ Independent infrastructure — An alternative to traditional fibre and mobile networks.
✅ High-speed, low-latency connectivity — Suitable for many cloud-based security applications, remote access and video communications.
✅ Rapid deployment — Particularly valuable for remote, rural or temporary sites where traditional broadband is unavailable or unreliable.
✅ Business continuity — Helps keep critical systems connected during terrestrial network outages.
✅ Greater site resilience — Another communications path for security systems, cloud platforms and remote support.
Why does this matter to our customers?
Because we're increasingly designing security systems that do much more than record video.
Modern security infrastructure can include cloud-managed CCTV, intrusion detection, remote access control, video analytics, monitoring centres and intelligent alerts.
All of these benefit from dependable connectivity.
At Usee.ie, we're now incorporating multi-layer connectivity resilience into our security designs for commercial, industrial, high-security and remote locations.
And we're testing these technologies at our own headquarters before recommending them to customers.
Of course, three internet connections alone don't guarantee resilience. Intelligent automatic failover, independent network paths, backup power and continuous monitoring are equally important.
The future of security isn't just about seeing what's happening.
It's about staying connected when it matters most.
15 years of engineering security solutions. And we're still finding ways to make them better.
